AstroLife Experiment: Post 7

In my last post I listed a million and one upcoming transits, but there were two that really stood out to me. First there is Mercury sextile Neptune, which ends today, thank God. This transit has put me in full blown vacation mode during midterms of all times. I had so much that I wanted to complete in the past week and I got nothing but the bare minimum done because I could not concentrate. To make things worse at least half of last week had a void of course moon, which made it a terrible time to start something new. The next transit was Sun conjunct Venus. During this transit I went for my first chemical peel, bought a new skincare system, and started a new workout regimen, in an attempt to take better care of myself in 2013.

On my birthday, I found out some interesting information that was a definite eye opener. My grandmother has recently come to America to live and she’s staying with my father. She called me from an odd phone number and when I called it back my father answered. I didn’t think anything of it at first, it wasn’t until my aunt called me for my birthday that she dropped two bombs on me. The first one was that the odd number my grandmother called me from was my father’s land line number. My father has not had a land line number in years, he only has a cell phone. However, my aunt said that my grandmother demanded that he got one so he did. So I didn’t have his house phone number, nor was I even told that he has a house phone. The second bomb was when my aunt said that my father got his citizenship last week. This was the first I had heard of this. I had talked to him on the phone, twice since he had gotten his citizenship and he never said a word. Getting your citizenship is a big deal and it’s something you celebrate, he purposely chose not to tell me. He’s not even aware that I know. On top of that, he didn’t even get me anything for my birthday, not even a card. So on my birthday of all days I see where I stand with him. I see more confrontations in 2013…

Pluto will be going retrograde on April 12th at 2:35 pm. Where will Pluto be, when it goes retrograde? Mine will still be in my fourth house sadly. Still uprooting my home life and family ties. However, I know the uprooting is necessary despite the fact that it will be a rough experience. I am willing to bet that a heavy amount of this Plutonian energy will be focused on my father. This could be the year where I end communication with him, he’s been messing up way too often in a short space of time, and I’m just about done being disappointed.

There will be a new moon in 20°41′ Aries on April 10th at 5:35 am. This will be taking place in my 8th house and forming a quincunx with my natal Pluto. I can expect a transformation in my life, increased libido, a need for intensity and investigation, new beginnings, taking action, being more assertive, impulsiveness, power struggles, and obsessiveness.  This new moon will also be conjunct my Sun/Mercury midpoint which puts emphasis on communication and ideas.

My Upcoming Transits (Transit aspect Natal) & Midpoint Combinations

4/13-11/4: Uranus sextile MC- feeling positive about career advancement, being creative at work, willing to take risks, spontaneous, exploring new areas of interest (careers).

4/18-10/29: Uranus conjunct Sun- need for freedom, independence, and individuality, impatient, daring, hard to focus on everyday/tedious tasks.

4/11-4/22: Jupiter quincunx Uranus- letting go of outdated goals and personal visions to take a new path

4/13-4/23: Jupiter square AC- new opportunities arise and plans should proceed only when they are thoroughly thought out

4/17-5/6: Jupiter quincunx Neptune- personal ideals are challenged; may become disillusioned by ideals

4/15-4/20: Venus square Jupiter- self indulgent, generous, need for socialization

4/16-4/22: Venus square Saturn- withdrawing socially and emotionally, disappointments occur, noticing flaws in people around you

4/11-4/16: Venus conjunct Mercury- charming, friendly, artistic, humorous

4/11-4/17: Venus sextile Mars- romance, flirting, creative stimulation

4/13-4/16: Mars conjunct Mercury- very straightforward, direct, sharp mind

4/4-4/17: Mars sextile Mars- decisive, need for an outlet to express energy, big ego, self confidence

4/26-Mars/Neptune=Uranus: sudden inspiration, acting intuitively, helping others in your own way

4/30-Saturn/MC= Uranus: questioning authorityand pointing out its faults

I still have a ton of transits, but I’m curious to see how they manifest. I also did my solar return and received a stellium of planets in the 12th house in Aries, which should be interesting since the 12th house is about being hidden and Aries likes to be the center of attention. It’s a paradox, but only time will tell how this chart will become a reality. As always, I’ll talk to you soon. I hope everyone had a great holiday.

AstroLife Experiment: Post 1

In my last post I explained that I would be living 2013 by the cosmos. In order to accomplish this I took note of moon cycles, transits to come, and void of course moon to really see if being more astrologically aware will make my life run smoother. In my previous post I explained the life changing effects of Pluto in my life during 2012, and it was those events that made me come up with the idea of the AstroLife Experiment.

I took note of moon cycles because it helps in determining the tone of a month by telling which house is being affected, the house the moon is in when it is new or full, and which planets and midpoints are activated by forming an aspect with the moon. When the aspect is soft, like a trine or sextile, there is a positive outcome, and when the aspect is hard, (square, opposition, quincunx), there is usually a struggle to overcome. However, when it comes to midpoints, remember that they are only activated by hard aspects and this doesn’t automatically make the outcome negative.

My reason for looking at a void of course moon chart is to be the most productive me that I can be. When you do something during a void of course moon it ends up needing to be redone, and what is repeated does not manifest. During a void of course moon it is recommended that you do not start anything new, sign any important papers, make business deals, get married or go on a first date, get surgery, etc. It is best to relax, reflect, or engage in a hobby like activity. I personally plan to use this calendar as a study guide to avoid studying during void of course moon since I would never be able to absorb the information from my textbook. For those who don’t know what a void of course moon is it’s when the moon is between signs.

As of next week a new moon cycle begins on Jan. 13. It will be a Capricorn new moon at 21 degrees 46 minutes. For me that would be a fifth house new moon. During a new moon it’s good to start something that’s related to the house that it falls in, it’s said that whatever you start on a new moon is rewarded on a full moon. Ex.- What’s started on a Capricorn new moon is rewarded on a Capricorn full moon. If the moon is in your fourth house you may want to redecorate your home or do a renovation of some sort.

My Upcoming Transits (Transit aspect Natal) & Midpoint Combinations

1/7 to 4/3: Saturn conjunct Moon- self doubt, self criticism, feeling isolated, feeling withdrawn, feeling misunderstood, time for reflection, break away from old habits and attachments

1/5 to 1/15: Mars square moon- impatient, irritable, hot headed, having no problem standing up for myself

1/5 to 1/10: Mercury sextile Moon- sharing feelings and being a good listener

1/7-1/11: Mercury conjunct Uranus- fast thinking and learning, restless, impulsive, bored with routine

1/2-4/9: Saturn quincunx Sun- ending an important phase in my life, making changes in life that lessen responsibilities

2012 to 4/13: Saturn quincunx MC- adjustments in work responsibilities or social status

2012 to 8/13: Pluto quincunx MC- changes in life direction after doing some soul searching

2012 to 7/29: Pluto square Sun- internal changes, determination, spontaneity, assertiveness, need to reform life, need for greater personal power and creative expression, very ambitious, eliminating old habits, power struggles, feeling that I compromise too much

2012 to 2/9: Neptune sextile Mercury- sympathetic, understanding, imaginative, creatively inspired

2012 to 3/11: Neptune trine Mars- motivated, idealistic, relaxed, able to see other’s point of view

2012 to 2/16: Pluto/MC=Neptune- this midpoint makes you pursue what you believe your true path is and creates power struggles with authority. With Neptune I could be too idealistic in career pursuits and find myself daydreaming to escape the power struggles.

2012 to 4/13: Uranus/AC=Saturn- this midpoint creates a unique personality, changes in outer appearance, and a rebellious personality. With Saturn freedom becomes very important and I will fight if it is infringed upon.

2012 to 4/13: Neptune/AC=Saturn- this midpoint creates uncertainty and confusion in relationships, confusion about who you are, and a mysterious personality. With Saturn there’s a fear of deception in relationships and frustration from misunderstandings.

In my next post I will discuss how these transits, midpoint activation, and more are manifesting. So far I can definitely say that studying according to the void of course moon chart has worked wonders for me. Every time I study I retain most of the information and that’s a big step for me. So the Astrolife Project is being effective.

Midpoints and Career Insight

Choosing a career is an extremely difficult task. It’s a lifetime commitment to a job, and there’s so many choices it’s hard to pick a path. Since I am currently in that state of mind, I decided to look to my midpoints for a little career insight.

1. Look to your natal chart’s tenth house, which represents career, public reputation, and status. You can also look to your sixth, which represents everyday tasks and work, and the second house, which represents finances, for a more complete evaluation.

2. Use any midpoints within a 2 degree orb of the MC as well.

3. Look to any midpoint combinations that include the MC

4. Use the puzzle pieces of 1,2, and 3 to make a bigger picture.

My example only includes the first two steps since I have way too many MC midpoint combination examples.

1. In House 10:

Mercury/Jupiter- Enthusiastic communication, and excessive thinking and ideas.

Venus/Jupiter- Luxury and popularity that might cause jealousy.

Sun/AC- Self confident but might be egotistic, identity is bound to life goals, and placing great importance on relationships with others.

Mercury/AC- love of communication and interesting ideas.

Mars/MC- working hard to create your own security, and problems with authority figures.

Jupiter/MC- success, strong desire to rise to a high status, and an optimistic attitude.

2. I don’t have any midpoints conjunct the MC.

Summary: Based on steps one and two, I need a career where I can communicate with people and exchange ideas. This aspect is mentioned more than once so it is very important to me. It also states that my identity is bound to my goals so my career has to be something that I find  fulfilling and enjoyable. There’s even a mention of problems with authority, which couldn’t be more correct, it’s the reason why I’m considering being an entrepreneur so that I can be my own boss. The rest of the midpoints discuss the status I would like to attain, luxury, success, and security, which I would like to earn for myself. Lastly, there’s mention of my public reputation, which says I could be loved, but this can also bring an equal amount of jealousy.

This approach is a bit unorthodox, but it is insightful. I hope that you give it a try and share your results. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability. Have a good day :).

Love and Midpoints

Everyone is always wondering when am I going to meet the one? And of course, we want all of the details. We want to know what they look like, where will we meet them, when we will meet them, etc. We’ve all been there and done that, but instead of wondering look to your love midpoints.

I decided to look back at relationships where I really felt in love. Those relationships stood out because no matter what happened we wanted to work things out, and gave each other many chances. Even when you say it’s over, you know if you had a chance with them you would try to make it work all over again. I discovered that this is the influence of your love midpoints.

Your love midpoints would include your Sun/Moon midpoint, which is heavily emphasized in synastry (relationship astrology), your Venus/Jupiter midpoint, Moon/Venus midpoint, Venus/Mars midpoint, Venus/Uranus midpoint, and Venus/Pluto midpoint. You can also look to your vertex since it shows when a new influence, (event, person, opportunity, etc.), will come into your life. Just be aware that this influence can be good or bad, so don’t over romanticize it or you’ll be disappointed. The vertex is a sensitive place and it is activated by hard aspects.

Sun/Moon: The balance of ego and emotion, and represents your deepest need of fulfillment.

Venus/Jupiter: is about generosity in love, giving and receiving it. Opening your heart to someone or something new.

Moon/Venus: is the mixture of emotion and love, and relates to things that make you feel good.

Venus/Mars: is referred to as your sex point, it describes the chemistry between two people.

Venus/Uranus: is about unexpected love; love at first sight.

Venus/Pluto: is a deep love that is beyond the superficial, and can become obsessive if one isn’t careful.

Sun/Venus: represents romance, self love, your radiant attractive qualities, harmony, artistic talent, and your beauty ideal.

I recommend that you analyze the times in your life when you felt you were in love, and if you remember the day that you met look at the transits of that day and compare it to your natal chart. Check to see if any of the planets activated your love midpoints and look for a pattern. This pattern will give you a clue as to when you will meet someone that you can really fall in love with.

Example:

My freshman year of college, I was let out of my class late, which made me late for my following class. By the time I got to my class, my regular seat was taken by someone else and I sat all the way in the back of class in the only seat that was left next to a person. (I didn’t want to sit in the empty back row by myself). Little did I know that I was sitting next to the guy I would be having an ongoing romance with for at least a year.

On that day my vertex was on fire, I had a Jupiter conjunction with a 1° orb, a Neptune conjunction with a 5° orb, a square with the moon with an orb less than 1°, and a Mars quincunx with an orb of 2°. (Note: Only take the moon into consideration if you know the almost exact time of day that you met. The moon moves very quickly and changes a degree in about 4-5 minutes. I got lucky and found my old class schedule so I knew what time my class had started.) I also had a conjunction to my Sun/Moon midpoint by my North Node with a 1° orb. Additionally, my Venus/Jupiter midpoint had 3 very tight squares with Mercury, Saturn, and Uranus. Also, my Moon/Venus midpoint was activated by the Sun and Pluto. Lastly, my Venus/Pluto midpoint was activated by Jupiter, the moon, and Mars.

For me, this is where things became interesting. I learned that my vertex is the same degree as my Venus/Pluto midpoint. When I looked at another time I was in love I found my pattern. Whenever my vertex and Venus/Pluto midpoint is activated I meet someone that I’m very attracted to, and they are a potential love. This feeling is due to the power of Venus/Pluto and it is emphasized by the ultra sensitive vertex. Ironically, my vertex is now officially romanticized thanks to Venus/Pluto.

You can take it a step further and look at your midpoint combinations, so that you can have an idea of what kind of tone your relationship had. It can give you the clarity you need in the face of past and future obstacles.

Well I’ve rambled enough for one day, and I hope you can use this information to your benefit. If you have any questions on midpoint astrology, let me know and I will help you to the best of my ability:)

Midpoints and Transits

I started thinking about how midpoints can influence your life, and the first thing I thought of were transits. People usually use transits to see how they affect their life once it aspects a natal planet, but I was thinking that midpoints should work the same way. If a transiting planet makes a hard aspect to a midpoint, that midpoint is activated, and it brings a new energy into your life.
So of course I searched for proof of this, and I decided to look back at a moment in my life…
My high school graduation day had my Neptune/MC midpoint activated. This created the following midpoint combinations: Neptune/MC/Uranus, Neptune/MC/Jupiter, and Neptune/MC/Mars.

Neptune/MC/Uranus: This midpoint makes you idealistic towards your career and with Uranus being thrown into the mix, there can be confusion as to what your dream career is. (At this point in my life I was not sure what I wanted to do for a living, yet I was on my way to a college with a scholarship based on what my parents expected me to do career-wise).

Neptune/MC/Jupiter: This midpoint is about idealistic careers and Jupiter aspecting this midpoint makes that idealism even greater, Jupiter is all about expansion. (So when I graduated I had big dreams about what kind of life I wanted but I wanted how to get there. Neptune can be confusing.)

Neptune/MC/Mars: This combination means that I had hidden anger over the fact that my ideals were not being realized. (I was going to the college of my parent’s choice, doing the major of my parent’s choice, and there wasn’t much I could do about it which sucked).

This is an example of how you can analyze anything like an event (graduation, wedding, etc.), or the the day you met someone special using midpoint astrology. Find out if you and someone were meant to be, or why a wedding ended up in divorce. The stars as a guide, so why not use them.

Your Most Important Midpoints

There are 78 midpoints in total in astrology, and everyone has midpoints that are uniquely important to them. I wanted to find out which midpoints are most significant in my life, and how they affect me when activated by a transit.  Before I mention that, I want to discuss how I selected my most important midpoints.

1. Calculate your midpoints in your birth chart. There are several calculators online that are free. I usually google ‘midpoint calculator’ and find one.

2. Keep a log of your midpoints so that you can refer to them. I have an astrology notebook where I logged every chart and midpoint interpretation.

3. Under each midpoint make a note of each planet that activates that point. (For example, my Mercury/Jupiter midpoint is Gemini 16° 3′. This point was activated by a quincunx made by Neptune in Capricorn 16° 41′.) This means I have a Mercury/Jupiter/Neptune midpoint combination. (Refer to last post if unsure of what a midpoint combination entails).

4. Note the orb between the midpoint and planet. Using my previous example of the Mercury/Jupiter midpoint and Neptune, there is an orb of 38′ between them. This is a very tight orb. I circled all orbs that are equal to or less than 1°.

5. Now you are ready to select your most important midpoints :D. I took the midpoint with the most tight orbs to be the strongest. I had two midpoints that had 3 tight orbs each. So how did I decide which one was stronger? I added up the orbs, and the midpoint with the lowest total was the one that I believe is stronger since it represents an overall tighter orb.

Example- My Moon/Venus midpoint is aspected by Uranus with an orb of 43′, Mars with an orb of 2′, and my Asc. with an orb of 27′. The overall orb was 1° 12′.

My Venus/MC midpoint is aspected by Uranus with an orb of 16′, Mars with an orb of 19′, and Mercury with an orb of 28′. The overall orb was 1° 3′. This is the stronger midpoint of the two.

You should have about 10-15 important midpoints on your list.

Feel free to ask any questions on this process, and I will help you to the best of my ability. 🙂

PS- I will be discussing midpoints and transits in the future. Have a great day!

Midpoint Combinations

I recently decided to be adventurous and calculate all my astrological midpoints, and several days later (lol) I finished. Then I decided to be more adventurous and calculate the midpoint combinations, which revealed some interesting facts. But first, I will explain what a midpoint combination is.

A midpoint combination is formed by a planet making a hard aspect such as a conjunction, square, or opposition to a midpoint. For example, if Venus is square the sun/moon midpoint it is a sun/moon/venus midpoint combination. (You can also use minor aspects like the semisextile=30 degrees, semisquare=45 degrees, sesquiquadrate=135 degrees, and quincunx=150 degrees if you are tedious like me.

There is the possibility of having a midpoint combination in triplicate. Example- Sun/Moon/Venus, Moon/Venus/Sun, and Sun/Venus/Moon.

Having a midpoint combination that’s in triplicate means that it resonates with you in a deep way. It holds an important quality of you.

I discovered five triplicate midpoint combinations in my natal chart, which I will share.

Sun/Moon/Asc.- which means I am motivated by my situation and environment.

This is true for me because I don’t live in the best neighborhood and I’m working on getting out of it and my small apartment.

Sun/Mars/Pluto- This one scares me since it’s a combination associated with violent death and my eighth house is in Aries, but you can’t stop the inevitable and stop living life. I digress. Anyway, on a good note it means that I am super determined despite setbacks.

This rings true because I never give up, I keep pressing on.

Moon/Uranus/MC- means that emotional growth results from realizing my unique feelings and place in the world.

For me, the more I learn about myself the more emotional depth I realize I have, and I feel more comfortable sharing it. (It’s a bit more difficult to do with a Scorpio moon)

Moon/Uranus/Asc.- means you’re spontaneous in sharing your feelings, and being like an empath.

I tend to pick up on other people’s feelings like an empath, which is very draining. I’m also a very random person so I always say things out of the blue.

Sun/Moon/MC- the need to feel your work (career) is important, and that you’re good at it. A need to feel of service, and have an instinct of your life purpose.

This one is most important to me, speaking as someone who’s recently come to the realization that basing my career on earning potential makes me extremely unhappy. I’d rather do something I like and make less money. I”m always helping people whether it’s with directions or advice, I’m always at service. As for the instinct thing I’m not really sure that’s kicked in I have several things I want to do, blame that on my Gemini midheaven.

Hope you enjoyed my ramblings and learned something new. Feel free to ask any questions on midpoint combinations and I will help you to the best of my ability.:)
